Experience the Farm

At The Nest Box, we believe in transparency and giving you the opportunity to enjoy the farm experience yourself. Want to ensure the eggs you buy are really from happy grass-eating hens? At The Nest Box, we encourage you to come see for yourself! Not only can you see firsthand how everything works, grows and is cared for, but we invite you to stay, relax, and enjoy the farm property, whether for an intimate farm experience, a farm stay, a photo shoot, a workshop, or a special event at our refurbished barn.

Farm Experiences

We offer intimate farm experiences for small private groups of up to eight people. Come experience an up-close and personal encounter with our farm animals and garden. Feed and brush our dairy cow and miniature horses. Hold and pet our friendly cochin hens as you hand feed them chicken scratch. Collect chicken eggs from the nest boxes. Feel the thick spongy wool of our Babydoll sheep. Be entertained by our rambunctious goats. Observe our fascinating honeybees. Learn about our biodynamic and regenerative farming practices. And cuddle with our bunnies.

The experience is approximately 2 hours long and includes a light farm picnic provided by The Farmhouse Kitchen at The Nest Box (MEHKO Permit# PT0501239) highlighting seasonal goods from our farm. The cost is $480 for the group, or $65 per person. For more details and availability, please visit our experience listing.

Farm Stays

Come stay on the farm and experience farm life first hand! Visit the animals, harvest from the garden, or play games in the barn. For more details and booking information please visit Airbnb.

Wool Dryer Ball Workshop

Book a private workshop for up to eight people where we'll convert raw wool from our Babydoll Sheep into nifty, cute, and environmentally sound dryer balls. We'll start with teasing through the wool to remove excess vegetation. We'll feel the natural lanolin oils transfer to our skin, making our hands extra soft! We'll then rhythmically card our wool using hand carders. This meditative process will put you into a relaxing trance. We'll then roll the carded wool into a rolag and the rolags into a ball that we will felt using felting needles. You'll have the ability to customize your balls with colors and essential oils. Oh, and all along the process, we'll enjoy some treats from the farm. You'll leave the workshop with three dryer balls to use over and over again at home. They'll reduce your dry time, reduce static, reduce waste, and leave your clothes smelling fantastic! The workshop is about 2 hours long. The cost for the group is $450. Schedule your booking by sending an inquiry through our Contact form.
